Canada Goose

Canada Goose in The Lake - Parc Oméga

The Lake

This beautiful goose is recognized by its black neck and head, its white cheeks and large brown wings.

During the migration, these birds fly for a distance of up to 1 000 kilometers a day! They usually live in the northern regions of Quebec. However, since a couple of years ago, some families have established their nest here, in the Park. These birds are recognizable in the sky by their famous “V” shape.

During spring season, females will lay 4 to 8 eggs from the end of March to the beginning of May which will hatch 28 days later. The young have a yellowish color. The couple will stay together for a lifetime and will reproduce once a year.
