Moose - Forest - Parc Oméga

The Forest

At Parc Oméga you will have the chance to discover the largest deer species to this day. The size of an adult male exceeds the size of the largest saddle horses and weighs about 600 kg (up to 800 kg in the Yukon and Alaska). From Alaska to Newfoundland, we can admire its antlers reaching up to 1,80 meters. Despite its giant look, the moose is as quiet as a cat in the forest, The moose is a solitary animal. However, the moose gather together in the winter to keep warm.

During the last two weeks of September, the moose mate. At the end of May and in the beginning of June, the female gives birth to 1 or 2 fawns that run faster than humans at a few days old only.
